Baby Care Car Seats

Before you get to even bring home your baby you will need a baby car seat, most hospitals do not allow you to bring home your baby unless you have a car seat which they require you bring into the hospital. But choosing a car seat for your baby is very important. Graco and Eddie Bauer are very good brand, they always receive good ratings. They can run anywhere from $45 to $80 just for a rear facing infant car seat.

Rear facing car seats for babies are made for babies under 20 pounds, once your child reaches over 20 pounds then it is time for a front facing car seat. The most common age for a baby over 20 pounds is about 7 or 8 months. But each child is different and they may not reach 20 pounds until they are over a year. Don’t be alarmed if some parents have their kids in front facing seats at 9 months and your one year old is still in rear facing car seats.

You can purchase these car seats brand new in your local retail store or you can find used car seats on EBAY or in thrift stores in your neighborhood. These car seats are very durable and Graco and Eddie Bauer have never been recalled. The hospital will do a car seat check to make sure you installed the base properly and then they check the car seat itself and make sure the straps are safe enough for the baby to go home in.
